From February 8th – 10th, an official Finland ministerial delegation, led by the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Mr Kai Mykkänen, visited Myanmar. The delegation was comprised of official delegates from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and business delegates representing various Finnish companies (organized by Team Finland).
Discovery DMC was proud to act as the local logistical partner for this delegation visit. Our services included hotel, transportation and meeting venue arrangements for the delegation as well as facilitating and coordinating other operational needs during the visit.
The purpose of the trip was to offer support for the civilian governments reform efforts as well as to promote economic relations between the countries and explore opportunities for Finnish business. The Minister and delegates met with government ministries and other key public and private sector actors in both Yangon and Naypyidaw.
During the trip, Mr Mykkänen also met with Myanmar’s State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi and discussed the ongoing reform process, human rights, development cooperation as well as trade, education and environmental sustainability.
