This short Myanmar trekking tour will introduce you to some off the beaten trails highlights of Taungoo active way.
Taungoo is an ancient city and former Burmese kingdom founded during the 16th century. It is one of the mightiest empires in Burmese history. Over 500 years ago kings of Taungoo used to visit the Myat Saw Nyi Naung Pagoda across the Sittaung River eastern bank. A brick road was constructed and a Golden bridge was constructed spanning the river. The bridge has been broken but the brick road remains and is now called the Golden Road.
On our day excursion we trek through local villages and farms learning about local life and cultivation’s, we cross the Sittaung River by ferry and trek along the Golden Road to Myat Saw Nyi Naung pagoda where you will be served lunch.
After exploring the pagoda and surroundings we cross the river and trek through more villages back to Taungoo and return to your hotel late afternoon. Depending on the location we might transfer part of the way.
