Get in touch with locals on this beautiful hill tribe trekking in astonishing mountain trails of North Eastern Shan state. This four days excursion will lead you trough to some of the interesting ethnic minority villages of the Shan state. Shan state is the biggest state in Myanmar and it gets its name from Shan people one of the several ethnic groups that inhabit the rural areas of the state.

On this fully guided soft adventure tour you will get to visit some of the ethnic minority villages of North Eastern Shan state and learn about their unique traditions, customs and beliefs. We will take leisurely walks to the villages and its surroundings to see the old way of living. Here you can really experience how people still live of the land.

There are many trails of various duration and challenge. Our itinerary will be adapted to your fitness level and desires and those who are not up for the physical challenge can visit many of the villages by jeep (at extra cost and should be booked in advance).

This is a perfect opportunity to see and experience interesting cultures and magnificent landscapes. For adventure seekers of all age and fitness level, we can give you an insight of the life of these warm heart hill tribe people.

DAY 1 > ARRIVAL TO KYAING TONG                                                       [-/-/-]

Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. Afternoon excursion to the sights of Kyaing Tong include Maha Myat Muni Pagoda (Wat Pha Jao Lung) the most glorious temple of Kyaing Tong; the Khun Shan monastery of Wat Zom Kham, the most impressive among all the Shan Temples in the city. And also visit a lacquer ware workshop where the unique Shan lacquer wares are produced in delicate way.

DAY 2 > KYAING TONG – LOI MWE – KYAING  TONG                      [B/-/-]

After breakfast, visit Kyaing Tong market (5 minutes walking distance) where minority people shopping and selling. Then 1 ½ hours bumpy drive on a narrow road will take you to Loi Mwe located on a mountain plateau. Visit en-route the Wa village of Naung Cho known as the birth place of one of the earliest ethnic tribes of Shan country. In Loi Moi visit the Old Catholic church built by the Italian mission early in the 19th century and see some of the colonial houses built as summer residences during the British colonial era.

Then drive to Ho Latt, Akha village. Continue on foot to the villages of the surrounding region and visit the unique Akha, Naung Cho Wa village and Pang Wai Lahu ethnic minorities in a comfortable pace. The walking hours can last to 2 to 6 hours depending on the number of villages visited. In the afternoon, drive back to Kyaing Tong.

DAY 3 > KYAING TONG – WAN NYET – KYAING TONG                     [B/-/-]

After breakfast at your hotel, visit to Wan Nyat village about one and half hours drive from Keng Tong. Follow by the visit to

Wan Shan Village. In the late afternoon back to Kang Tong and overnight stay at Kyaing Tong.

DAY 4> KYAING TONG DEPARTURE                                                           [B/-/-]

After breakfast, we would take the rest sightseeing around city area. In the evening, transfer to airport for the domestic flight.
