The ship Mv Sea Gypsy is custom designed from a traditional style Burmese junk to a perfect exploration vessel. On this sea adventure you can do snorkelling, island exploration, fishing and much more. The ships cook will keep your stomachs satisfied with a variety of Thai, Burmese and European Cuisine served in buffet-style. For refreshments you can buy beer and different wines from the boats bar.
This seven days island hopping adventure to Mergui Archipelago will take you on a journey to some of the most amazing spots of the archipelago and is great value for money. Experience the Mergui archipelago with your friends or family. Our island safari boat facilities are simple yet functional. These cruises are suitable for people who are adventurous, easy going and don’t mind sharing facilities and sleeping in open space with canvas dividers and mosquito nets. The ship has many common areas for relaxing and enjoying the views.
Get a chance to meet the Moken people also known as “sea gypsies”. They are true island people and have been living semi nomadic life on Mergui islands for hundreds of years. You will be among the very few privileged visitors to the pristine Mergui (Myeik) archipelago of 800 islands, which was only recently opened for foreigners after decades of isolation.

DAY 1: KAWTHAUNG – THE THREE ISLETS (115 ISLAND) [-/L/D]
Your guide will meet you at the airport/ pier in Kawthaung and transfer you to your boat for check in. Along the way, observe the bustling border town. If you are interested and if time permits, you may take part in a short sightseeing tour (optional). Stroll through the lively market near the Jetty, visit the famous Victoria Point, the most southern tip of Myanmar’s mainland, photo stop at the King Bayint Naung statue.
Visit the Pyi Daw Aye Pagoda with scenic views across the river to Ranong and finish the tour with a short drive through the fishermen settlements on the out skirts of the town. Overnight cruise to The Three Islets (115 Island).
DAY 2: THE THREE ISLETS (115 ISLAND) – NYAUNG WEE ISLAND – BO CHO ISLAND [B/L/D]
Wake up with a stunning view at The Three Islets (115 Island). After breakfast, swim and snorkel with tons of fishes through the crystal-clear water. Later follow our guide through the lush tropical jungle to a small beach, where you can find a lot of beautiful shells swapped in from the ocean. Before Lunch cruise to Nyaung Wee Island and visit the Moken Village.
During lunchtime we will cruise to the largest sea gypsy settlement in the area on Bo Cho Island. Be prepared to get surrounded by curious kids. Bring some small gifts and be even more overwhelmed by their warm welcome. Walk through the village and take scenic pictures from the Pagoda located on the hill overlooking the entire village. Chill-out on board and observe the daily life of the almost extinct sea-gypsies. Do some night fishing. Overnight on board nearby Bo Cho Island.
DAY 3: BO CHO ISLAND – LAMPI ISLAND – TAR YAR ISLAND – KO PHAWT ISLAND [B/L/D]
Early morning cruise to Lampi Island, this huge island, which is one of Myanmar’s National Parks, gives us more than just one stop. Our first stop will be, on the southern tip, right in front of a mangrove lagoon. Learn how to use a kayak and take the chance to explore the ancient mangrove forest with your friend.
Take a short rest, while we cruise to Tar Yar Island. Here we will take kayaks for an extended tour through the 4 km long tidal river. Follow the stream, which is leading us right into the heart of the island. Immerse yourself in this fragile eco-system, while passing noisy monkeys looking for food on large sand bars. The views and the sounds of the ancient rain forest remind one of scenes seen in the movie Jurassic Park. By sunset we will cruise along the shore and stop at another island called Ko Phawt Island. Overnight on-board nearby Ko Phawt Island.
DAY 4: KO PHAWT ISLAND – SA LET GA LET ISLAND [B/L/D]
After early breakfast get yourself ready to swim and snorkel at Ko Phawt Island. Learn more about the trees, herbs and wild life. Be amazed by the beautiful view of this island and question yourself how the people here still live in perfect harmony with nature. Return back to the boat and get rewarded with our delicious lunch.
After lunch go back and join up with the island inhabitants. Maybe try out some ancient spear fishing techniques or paddle in one of their traditional canoes which is hand-carved out of one single tree trunk. After that we will cruise to our next island with the named Sa Let Ga Let Island. Overnight on board nearby Sa Let Ga Let Island.
DAY 5: SA LET GA LET ISLAND – WA ALE ISLAND – PILAR ISLAND [B/L/D]
Today will be an easy going day. Here we will try to fish some fresh food for dinner before we continue our trip to the beautiful Wa Ale Island. The rest of the day is all yours: take the sea kayak and cross the bay to a small islet or trek through the mangroves to the other side of the island. Enjoy the magnificent views or discover what kind of corals and fishes you can find underwater. We will continue the cruise to Pilar Island. Overnight on board nearby Pilar Island.
DAY 6: PILAR– HIGH ROCK (HLAING GU) – ZAR DET NGE & SALON ISLANDS
After breakfast we will continue further south to reach High Rock (Hlaing Gu Island). Find some ideal backdrops for your photo album. Explore the various secluded beaches and take a sunbath on one of them. Return to the boat and eat as much as you like from the absolutely delicious food. Afternoon relax on our sundeck or in your gazebo and enjoy the fresh sea breeze, while we are cruising to Zar Det Nge Island. Tonight we will have a BBQ dinner on board and continue the cruise to Salon Island. Overnight on board nearby Salon Island.
DAY 7: SALON ISLAND – KAWTHAUNG
Wake up, after breakfast cruising to Kawthaung. Disembark MV Sea Gipsy and transfer to the Kawthaung airport / Ranong.

About VISA Procedures
For guests which are entering and leaving Kawthaung/Myanmar from Ranong / Thailand do not have to apply for a visa at the Myanmar Embassy. You are able to get a special visa for the duration of the trip in Kawthaung. Just make sure to bring 40$ and two passport pictures along. Discovery DMC local support team will take care of the process in Kawthaung. Please be advised that agents or passengers are required to obtain all necessary visas for the county to be visited.
For Myanmar and Thailand a valid passport for six months is required. You will obtain 28 days valid tourist visa to enter Myanmar. We recommend that you contact your local Myanmar Embassy for the most up to date information on visa and passport requires. Combinations as enter Myanmar in Yangon and leave in Kawthaung are possible but need a special permit; please inform us immediately if you plan to do so.

Cruise Boat Facilities
Our adventure cruise boat has no cabins on board. We provide secure lockers which are located on the lower deck, for personal belongings storage. The boat was built as 5 open-air gazebos which can be transformed into double beds with curtains etc for the night time.
There are 2 gazebos on the upper deck and 3 gazebos on the main deck and all booking requests are always handled by the first received first served basis.The boat is just a simple and not a luxury boat. There is neither air-con nor fan onboard. There are 2 bathrooms (showers only) with toilets on the main deck and all the guests have to be shared it.
Note: Archipelago zone fee 150-250usd will be collected in Kawthaung by Myanmar official prior to starting cruise. This fee is subject to fluctuations and is not included in our tour costing.
