Experience Yangon, the bustling commercial center of Myanmar with charming colonial quarters, lively markets and sacred temples. Yangon is full of interesting things to see and magnificent colonial era architecture to admire. Yangon is quickly developing city and here you can still whiteness new and old side by side.

Get a feel of rural countryside life on a “Trishaw” bicycle taxi ride in Dala village.Visit Twante pottery village famous for its generations old cottage industry.

Play rounds at the old classic Yangon City Golf Course and Gary Player’s designed Pun Hlaing Golf Course.

Yangon City Golf course is a classic and beautiful site for round of high standard golf. It was established in the year 1909 by the British. Truly a piece of history and must course to see for all the golfers in Yangon.

Pun Hlaing is Myanmar’s pride in golf. This 18 whole course is kept in tournament condition year round. pun Hlaing regularly hosts The Asian tour competition and is a very challenging and rewarding course. The course is situated on a beautiful landscape bordered by lakes and Hlaing river.

DAY 1: YANGON HIGHLIGHTS AND WALKING TOUR

Arrival to Yangon. After checking in to your hotel we embark on a journey to explore Yangon highlights. Starting from colonial-style city center and one of the landmarks Sule Paya stupa – built over 2,000 years ago and being the focal point of numerous historical events in the city.

We continue on foot to the quaint Yangon Old Quarter, built during the British colonial era. Many charming historical buildings are still located here. During our stroll through bustling Market Streets full of merchants and food stalls, we visit a local pharmacy and learn about Myanmar traditional medicine, stop for a tea and snack in the fashion of locals, and enjoy the sights and sounds of Yangon.

We continue to one of Asia’s architectural landmarks, the elegant Strand hotel built by the Sarkies brothers. Inside, we visit the River Art Gallery, where the works of some of the most famous and skilled Burmese artists are on display fitting of the grand surroundings. Then, we continue to Chauk That Gyi pagoda to view its magnificent reclining Buddha, and Karaweik Hall to marvel at the uniquely decorated “hamsa-bird-shaped” floating barge on Kandawgyi (Royal) Lake.

We complete the day with a visit to one of the world’s most spectacular monuments, the Shwedagon Pagoda, a gold covered bell dome structure that dominates the city’s skyline. Legends state that the sacred hairs of the Buddha are enshrined here. The Shwedagon is an iconic symbol of the country, a sight not to be missed.

DAY 2: YANGON GOLF COURSE & EXCURSION TO DALA AND TWANTE

Pick up from hotel and enjoy morning round of 18 holes at the Yangon Golf Course which has long history and traditions since the British colonial era. Return to your hotel for relaxation and freshening up.

Late morning/ noon time we journey out of Yangon to Pansondan Jetty, from where we cross Yangon River by local ferry to Dala Village. Sit back and relax on our Tour by Trishaw, a three-wheeled bicycle taxi that maneuvers us through small lanes, market streets and friendly village neighborhoods.

We observe the daily activities of Burmese locals and get a feel for the authentic rural lifestyle of Myanmar. We make a stop in a pagoda and finish the trishaw tour with local refreshments. We change the mode of transport to local Taxi and drive 24km to Twante. The road is passing through farming lands and paddy fields and has very little traffic.

Twante is known for its generation’s old industry producing some of Myanmar’s best terracotta. We visit some local workshops meet the laborers and observe the process of making famous pots and other items with traditional methods and burning them in kilns.

Visit 75m high stupa at Shwesandaw Pagoda before drive back to Dala. Enjoy a sun downer at Junior Duck restaurant by the Yangon river before a ride back to your hotel.

DAY 3: PUN HLAING GOLF & YANGON

Pick up from hotel and morning round of 18 holes at Myanmar’s premier, the Pun Hlaing Golf Course designed by Gary Player. Return to your hotel and freshen up before enjoying lunch in  Shwe Sabwe restaurant school, a grassroots initiative run by western experts and chef’s to train Myanmar youth to become hospitality professionals.

Then, we catch local Circular Train and travel to bustling Bokyoke “Scott’s” Market located in the heart of the city, where hundreds of gemstone, handicrafts, art, clothes and food stores are tucked in a maze of color.

Please note that the market is closed on Mondays and on public holidays.

After shopping and wondering about in the market it is time to relax with a Foot Massage at Inya Day Spa before driving back to your hotel.

PUN HLAING GOLF CLUB (Yangon)

Touted as the ‘Best Golf Course in Myanmar’ and ‘The Pride of Myanmar’, this Gary Player-designed Par-72 7, 102-yard course is the latest addition to the golf scene in the country. Opened since 2000, it’s just 15-minute drive from the Yangon Airport and is carved out of the beautiful surrounding in between the Hlaing and Pun Rivers, and hence the name.

Not only does it offer a nice view of downtown Yangon, this golf course boasts of facilities of a very high standard. With well manicured greens and menacing bunkers, fairways snuggling the meandering waters off the two rivers, it also has the vantage point of viewing a beautiful sunset, if all else about the game must fail.

YANGON GOLF CLUB (Yangon)

The Yangon Golf Club is a mature, second oldest (Some say it’s the oldest) club in Myanmar. It was established in 1909 by the British at the present site, and has been continually re-newed over time.

It is a museum piece to be played all year round. No one remembers who designed and/or built this richly tree-lined and undulating course, that regularly stages Asian PGA Tours these days.
