TOUR DETAILS

DAY 1 : YANGON HIGHLIGHTS

On arrival to Yangon airport, you will be welcomed by Discovery DMC guide with a sign board and your name on it. Transfer to your hotel for check-in. After freshening up we will visit some of Yangon’s highlights; including colonial heritage buildings and bustling markets.

We complete the day with a visit to one of the world’s most spectacular monuments, the Shwedagon Pagoda, a gold covered bell dome structure that dominates the city’s skyline.

DAY 2 : ​FLIGHT TO BAGAN & EXPLORING TEMPLES

After breakfast, transfer to Yangon domestic airport for a 1hr flight to Nyaung U/Bagan. Upon arrival we start our journey to Ancient Kingdoms of Bagan with visits to the areas main temples including the Dhamayazeka Zedi for a panoramic view of the temple studded plains of Bagan. We will also learn how Bagan’s famous sand paintings and lacquer ware crafts are produced during our visits to Htilominlo Temple and Myingaba Village. We conclude the day’s sightseeing with a horse or bullock cart to witness a magical sunset behind the temples (weather permitting).

DAY 3 : DRIVE TO CHIN HILLS

In the morning travel through the plains of central Myanmar to the foothills of Chin State, to the regional hub of Mindat. Upon meeting the guide continue on the back of motorbikes to a village deeper in the mountains. From here we enjoy a light downhill trek into a hidden valley to a Chin village for overnight stay.

​DAY 4 TO 7 :  TREKKING TO CHIN VILLAGES

After breakfast and saying our farewells to the hosts, we embark on a trek along the paths connection one remote village to another. On our hike through beautiful landscapes and pristine forests, throughout the journey we will pass by traditional sacrificing poles and tomb tables, remnants of traditional Chin culture, enjoying stunning mountain vistas and crossing suspension bridges over wild highland rivers on the way. Simple yet hearty meals will be offered by our hospitable hosts in various tribal villages along the way.

​DAY 8 :  JOURNEY TO MT. VICTORIA

In the early morning hike past a couple of Chin villages and begin ascend through the lush forest covering the slopes of Mount Victoria National Reserve Park. We have lunch on the top admiring the surrounding rolling mountains partially hidden in low clouds. Afternoon hike to the basecamp from where we transfer by car to Kanpetlet.

DAY 9 :  DRIVE BACK TO BAGAN

In the morning you will have some time exploring Kanpetlet surroundings before we begin our drive to Bagan. On the we stop at Chauk town, where oil pumps are still in action after 100 years of oil extraction initiated by the British. Afternoon arrival in Bagan and rest of the day free for own explorations.

DAY 10 :  FLIGHT TO YANGON & DEPARTURE
