This itinerary is adjusted to your preferences, needs and likes. Should you wish to extend your trip there are direct flights from Inle Lake airport Heho to Ngapali Beach, an ideal destination for few days beach escape.

TOUR DETAILS

DAY 1 : ARRIVAL IN YANGON

Upon arrival to the Yangon airport, you will be welcomed by your Expeditions Myanmar guide and transferred to your hotel. Our journey begins with an afternoon tour through the colonial-style city center of Yangon. We visit the golden Sule Pagoda– built over 2,000 years ago and the focal point of numerous historical events in the city –Chauk That Gyi temple to view its magnificent reclining Buddha, and Karaweik Hall to marvel at the uniquely decorated “hamsa-bird-shaped” floating barge on Kandawgyi (Royal) Lake. We visit Bogyoke (Scotts) Market, where hundreds of gemstone, handicrafts, art, clothes and food stores are tucked in a maze of color. We complete the day with a visit to one of the world’s most spectacular monuments, the Swedagon Pagoda, a gleaming bell dome structure that dominates the city’s skyline. Legends state that the sacred hairs of the Buddha are enshrined here. The Shwedagon is an iconic symbol of the country, a sight not to be missed.

DAY 2 : ​ YANGON GOLF

Gear up for your first round of golf in Myanmar. We will start with early transfer before heavy traffic begins and drive to Hlainghtayar and Pun Hlaing Golf Estate. The 18 hole world class golf course here was designed by Gary Player and has hosted many international tournaments. We will book tee off time for you. Caddies, carts and buggies are available on the spot as well as rental gear. If you are not bringing own set please let us know so we will make sure there is one ready for you.

There is comfortable club house with pool and restaurant by the course where you may want to spend some time.
Your driver will be stand by to bring you back to Yangon when you are ready.

DAY 3 : ​ BAGAN HIGHLIGHTS

After breakfast, transfer to Yangon domestic airport and morning flight to Bagan where your journey into ancient Burmese kingdoms begins. We start with a visit to the gold gilded Shwezigon Stupa, purported to contain a holy tooth relic of the Buddha. Not far from the stupa, the Myingaba Gu Byaukgyi Temple is a sight to behold, housing Bagan’s best preserved mural paintings of the Buddha’s Jataka re-incarnations. Next, we learn how Bagan’s famous lacquerware crafts are produced in Myingaba Village, and then visit Htilominlo Temple to learn how Burmese sand paintings are created. The day’s temple tour ends with a visit to the beautifully symmetric and majestic Ananda Temple with its four standing Buddha images that seem to gaze at the viewer with fixed serenity wherever the viewer stands.

Last but not least we continue by ox or horse cart to witness a magical sunset behind the temples (weather permitting) and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant with a puppet show performance.

DAY 4 : ​ BAGAN GOLF

Morning transfer Bagan Golf Club tee- off amidst century old stupas and pagodas makes playing this unique course almost a spiritual experience. Return back to your hotel for rest and lunch and meet your guide and driver again in the afternoon and enjoy a private sunset cruise on Irrawaddy River accompanied by cold drinks and local snacks.

Note: Bagan golf course is just 9 holes and due to scorching sun and small investment expect modest facilities and primitive rental gear that .

DAY 5 : ​ MANDALAY HIGHLIGHTS

Morning transfer to Mt Popa 1.5hrs for a round of Golf at the Popa golf course. We will stop on the way to see how toddy juice/palm sugar is harvested and cooked to jaggary and local toffees. After your game enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Popa before we continue with 3hrs drive to Mandalay. We will arrive to Mandalay early evening.

DAY 6 : MANDALAY GOLF

Swing your clubs today at Yay Tagon Golf Club. With hills dotted with Temples as a backdrop this serene course promises a fine golfing experience. If you decide to tee-off early in the morning you might get to see wild monkeys roaming the course. After lunch and rest we explore some of the main highlights of Mandalay: Last palace building, Kuthodaw Pagoda / worlds largest book and Mandalay Hill for sunset.

DAY 7 : INLE LAKE HIGHLIGHTS

Enjoy breakfast and then transfer to the airport for the flight to Heho, a quiet transit town with one of the few airport links in the beautiful hills of Shan State. Visit the bustling main Heho Market, the meeting point for different ethnic minority groups of the surrounding areas to trade handmade goods and locally grown produce (on market days only). Enroute to Inle Lake, we stop at a Local Family Work Shop to learn how Shan umbrellas and paper are made by traditional methods using the fibres of the mulberry tree. Next, we take a 1-hour drive to Inle Lake that descends through the valley with views of the Shan mountains and rice paddy fields. After checking into the hotel, we embark on afternoon explorations of Inle Lake, populated with floating islands and gardens made From The naturally tangled roots of water hyacinth plants and reeds. delight in the picturesque sights of fishermen who balance and row with one leg, a technique indigenous to the Inn Thar minority group who do this only on Inle Lake.

DAY 8 :  INLE LAKE GOLF                                                                    

Transfer to Nyaung Shwe town from where we drive up to Aye Tha Yar Golf Club that is located at the foot of Taunggyi Hill. The undulating fairways are lined with pine trees that gives the club a mediterranean feel.

After your round of golf enjoy lunch and wine tasting at Myanmar’s Premier, Ayethayar vinery with sweeping views over the Inle Lake valley. German wine makers have been perfecting their harvest here for over 15 years.

DAY 9 :  RETURN TO YANGON

Transfer to Heho for flight back to Yangon. Meet your guide and driver who will bring you Yangon Golf Club near airport. Enjoy lunch before tee-off time.

Yangon Golf Club is old classic built during the British colonial period and extends through beautiful tree lined and varied terrain with water areas and sand bunkers. Like previously we will book tee off time for you and caddies, carts and buggies, clubs are available for hire. After finishing your round you will be transferred to your hotel in town.

Rest of the day is free at leisure. You may like to take a massage or spa treatment or do some shopping or see some more Yangon highlights. Let our local team know if you would like us to arrange transportation and some reservations for you.

DAY 10 :  DEPARTURE

Enjoy your time at leisure for shopping or strolling the colonial quarters of Yangon until your transfer to the airport.
