Myanmar River Cruises

Myanmar has long history of river cruising dating back to colonial period hundred some years ago when Burma had the largest inland water transport fleet in the world. Her main artery is the Irrawaddy (Ayeyarwady) river which is tributary of the Malikha, Maykha and Chindwin Rivers extending through the country over 2000km in length and forking out to the fertile Irrawaddy Delta also known as the rice bowl of Myanmar. Other great rivers that originate from high Tibetan mountains and flow through Myanmar are the Salween and Mekong Rivers. Mekong bordering Thailand and Laos in eastern Myanmar.
