Myanmar Airways launched a new route from Yangon to Pathein, the capital of the Ayeyarwady Region, and gateway to Ngwe Saung Beach. Flights depart every Monday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday and ticket prices start from US$ 55 per direction. Pathein is an important port town locate on the western edge of the Ayeyarwady River delta, on the Pathein River, 190km from Yangon. It is known for its scenic waterfront, umbrella workshops, temples and colonial architecture. The city and its airport are also the gateway to Ngwe Saung Beach (pictured above), popular for its pristine white sand beaches. Ngwe Saung beach is approximately one hour by car from Pathein airport.
