According to French Hotel Booking Platform Jovago, hotel prices across Myanmar have dropped by as much as 72% during the monsoon season. The significant rate reductions are a sign of growing competition in the hotel market as well as the growing realization by local hoteliers that more competitive rates are needed to attract visitors during the monsoon season.
Room prices of hotels were analyzed at the following destinations: Chaungtha beach Ngwesaung beach, Ngapali beach, Bagan, Hpa-an, Pyin Oo Lwin, Mawlamyine, Loikaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Nyaungshwe, Kalaw, Monya and Magway.
