In early November, Swiss luxury hotel group Kempinski, in a joint venture with local companies plans to open its first Myanmar property in Nay Pyi Taw, the administrative capital of Myanmar. The new property is targeted towards visiting diplomats, government delegates, NGO’s as well as holiday travelers. The group has invested US$45 million in the property which occupies a 50-acre site in the National Guest House compound Hotel Zone 1. The 141-room hotel features a swimming pool, tennis courts, a ballroom, five conference rooms and banquet rooms.
