Myanmar Andaman Resort, located in the Myeik Archipelago, is to undergo major renovations and will reopen in October 2015. The Archipelago consists of approximately 800 islands and is located in the Tanintharyi Region, Southern Myanmar. The islands offer stunning unspoiled beaches and excellent opportunities for diving, kayaking and trekking. The archipelago is expected to become an important tourist destination for Myanmar in the coming years. The Myanmar Andaman resort will be expanded from 22 to 88 rooms, and will offer a wider availability of room options for guests. To reach the resort, tourists can fly to Kawthaung via Yangon (4 hours), Bangkok or Phuket. From Kawthaung hotel staff can transport guests to the resort with a speedboat (2 hours). Room packages will go on sale in January 2015.
