In March, a Visitor Data Center will be opened in the Bagan archeological zone. The purpose of the center is to provide information and services including hotel and tour bookings for local and foreign visitors in Bagan.
The visitor center will be located in a renovated school building, near the Shwe Nandaw Hotel in Old Bagan.
The center is being financed and built by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and will be handed over to the relevant Ministries once complete. However, which ministries will take over responsibility of the visitor center has not been decided yet.
