The Myanmar Ministry of Hotels & Tourism has announced that from November 1st 2014 Mandalay International airport will begin to accept visitors arriving with an E-visa. In addition, the Visa on Arrival (VOA) process for tourists has been extended until the end of the year. Mandalay is the second largest city in Myanmar and the last royal capital of the country. It is located 700km north of Yangon on the east bank of the Irrawaddy River. The city is the economic hub of Upper Myanmar as well as the cultural capital of country. Mandalay is famous for its palaces and religious sites and is a popular gateway to the ancient city of Bagan.
