The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism has announced plans to expand Thandwe Airport in Southern Arakan State. Thandwe Airport is the gateway to Ngapali Beach, Myanmar’s premier beach gateway. The planned expansion will include an extension to the runway and a new international terminal that will allow the airport to accommodate flights from destinations like Bangkok and Singapore. A timeline for the expansion project was not announced.
