On September 23rd, local private airline Golden Myanmar Airlines (GMA) launched a new direct route from Yangon to Chiang Mai, Thailand. Flights depart every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Tickets prices start from US$59 one-way. GMA is private airline established in January 2013. The airline currently operates two airbuses and two ATR planes and offers daily flights on several domestic routes as well as to Singapore.
