The Myanmar Ministry of Hotels & Tourism has announced that a direct flight between the Bagan Ancient Archeological Zone and Siem Reap, Cambodia will commence on July 1st 2017. Siem Reap is the most popular tourist destination in Cambodia as it is the gateway to the famed Angkor Wat Temple Complex. According to the ministry, discussions with the relevant authorities have been completed and the new route is part of an effort to boost tourism relations between the two countries. No other information has been disclosed as of yet, including which airline will be servicing the route.
